Talk: Saturday 3-3.45pm
“Antarctica Reflections”
A short talk on photography in the world’s most extreme landscapes. Essentially it’s about voyages made to Antarctica, and to South Georgia, about the Southern Ocean, and the mystery and wonder of this remote part of the world, hidden from view and un-noticed by most of the world’s population. Yet it is a living scientific laboratory, a potentially huge story should climate change run out of control, a source of oceanic circulation ‘behaviour’, and it is home to some of the greatest concentrations of marine life on earth. Joe will talk about the various photographic challenges that come with visiting here. It is also incomparably beautiful.
